CHIMNEY REPAIR:
Leaky chimneys present real problems for your home. The most common place we find leaks is where the chimney meets the roof. The area surrounding the chimney as it goes through the roof needs to be sealed with flashing so no moisture enters your roofing, attic or ceiling areas.

CHIMNEY REPOINTING SERVICES:
Chimney repointing is the process of removing degraded mortar from the joints of a masonry chimney and replacing it with new mortar. If done well, the chimney’s structure will be strengthened and its lifetime extended. If done incorrectly, the chimney’s structure will be compromised and its appearance will be marred.

Do you have a masonry chimney?
Does this chimney serve a gas furnace, boiler or water heater?
If yes, there is important safety-related installation information for residential customers with gas appliances that vent into a masonry chimney.
For the installation and/or replacement of gas furnaces, boilers and water heaters in some homes, federal law requires a chimney liner. In most cases, replacement of gas appliances means installing a chimney liner. Residents should understand the requirements and installation restrictions for masonry chimneys.
Ask your licensed installer for details or learn more about your gas appliances from WSSC.
WSSC is the jurisdictional authority for natural gas and propane appliance installations in Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties.

CHIMNEY BUILDING:
If you’re planning an addition or building a new house, leave the chimney building up to the experts. We’ll help you plan how big the chimney needs to be given what you want to use it for and build you an attractive, sturdy masonry or cinder block chimney, or a chimney chase, if that’s what’s best for your plans.

COVER AND CAP INSTALLATION:
A chimney cap does a great job at keeping moisture, leaves and pests out of your chimney. This is extremely important to the longevity of your chimney. Moisture, rain, wind, snow and ice are all enemies of the inside of your chimney. Chimney Caps (single and multi-flue), Chase Covers, Lymance Top Dampers (with or without the cap), Exhaust Fans and more
